Description:

North America, Native American, Archaic to Historic, most from southeastern US, ca. 11,000 BCE (BP) to 800 CE. Very nice collection of stone, hand-knapped and authentic Native American arrowheads - most of a type once referred to as "bird points." Point F5 is a nice example of a Folsom point and dates to the earliest period of human existence in North America. When this point was made there were still mammoths and saber tooth tigers in some areas and it is thought by some that the extinction of these two species was a direct result of, or certainly hastened by early man's arrival to North America. Points F22 through 35 are primarily points located in eastern Texas, mostly Mississippian. A great group of nearly perfect points! Size for largest: 2" L x 1" W (5.1 cm x 2.5 cm)
