Description:

Pre-Columbian, Mexico, Veracruz culture, ca. 6th to 8th century CE. A charming collection of 3 pottery figures, each featuring an anthropomorphic body with a bird-like head. All seated cross-legged, the figures gaze forward with annular eyes above projecting, tapered beaks. Thick pectorals cover their shoulders and chests. One figure holds a jar in his left arm, while another grasps a petite object in his right hand, The third places both braceleted hands in his lap as a long headband carrying a sack falls down his back. Note the lustrous mica deposits shimmering across the surface of each figure! Size of largest (all about the same): 1.4" W x 1.7" H (3.6 cm x 4.3 cm)
