Roman Empire, Ca 100 BCE to 100 CE and Early Bronze Age - 3300 to 2500 BCE. Attractive set of pottery vessels, all found in the Holy land. First, three matched pottery bowls, possibly used as an offering dish at a temple, each wheel turned of simple form with tapering foot. Each 4-3/8" D. Along with pottery mug from the earliest period of the Bronze Age. Simple mug, slightly misshapen with slightly flared rim. Wheel thrown and some of the earliest wheel thrown pottery in existence. 2-1/2" H. Found in Hebron. Provenance: Ex Houston, TX collection acquired at Barakat Gallery, Rodeo Drive, Los Angeles.
