Native American, Southwestern United States, Navajo/Pueblo, ca. mid to late 20th century CE. A set of three beaded necklaces crafted from sterling silver, turquoise, coral, nacre, and heishi shells. The longest necklace features silver spherical and elongated melon beads strung on a chain with a hook clasp and an ovoid pendant at the center, inlaid with a turquoise cabochon; the verso is etched with "W.E.J." One choker-length necklace is composed of turquoise beads strung on a thread with a hook clasp. The other choker-length piece combines tiny mottled white heishi shells, tubular coral beads, and spherical sterling silver beads strung on a thread, centering on a nacre eagle pendant. Size of silver bead strand: 25" L (63.5 cm); pendant: 2" L x 1.5" W (5.1 cm x 3.8 cm); silver quality: 93% to 94%; weight: 44 grams; turquoise necklace: 15" L (38.1 cm); eagle necklace: 15.5" L (39.4 cm); eagle pendant: 1.25" L x 2.45" W (3.2 cm x 6.2 cm)
