Description:

Ancient Near East, Holy Land / Levant, Middle Bronze Age I-II, ca. 2200 to 1750 BCE; Late Bronze Age, ca. 1550 to 1200 BCE. A wonderful ensemble of 3 pottery oil lamps: 2 from the Middle Bronze Age and 1 from the Late Bronze Age. Boasting light hues of brown, the pair from the Middle Bronze Age each feature a square form with a flat, circular base and 4 pinched spouts, one in each corner. The last lamp is formed from red clay and displays a saucer shape with a narrow, pinched spout and a shallow bowl. A distinct edge forms a protruding rim, intended to prevent oil from spilling, and elegantly folds to its narrow wick. Size (of largest): 5.625" L x 5.25" W x 2.25" H (14.3 cm x 13.3 cm x 5.7 cm)
