Description:

Ancient Seas, probably North America, Middle Miocene to end of Pliocene eras, ca. 28 to 2.6 million years old. A fine selection of 3 fossilized teeth from the ferocious megalodon shark. The largest and the smallest teeth exhibit gray, light blue, and khaki hues on their unpolished enamel surfaces, and the medium-sized tooth bears dark brown, gray, and gunmetal hues on its polished obverse surfaces. Each root features petite perforations and fissures caused by boring clams and the process of fossilization. Considering megalodon sharks are thought to have contained roughly 276 teeth in their mouths at any given time, these teeth stand as a testament to just how intimidating these predators were! Size of largest: 2.55" W x 3.48" H (6.5 cm x 8.8 cm)
