Description:

Roman, Eastern Empire, Holy Land, Imperial Period, ca. 2nd to 4th century CE. A wonderful gathering of three mold-formed pottery oil lamps in a variety of different shapes that feature Jewish menorahs. First is a circular lamp with a protruding thumb rest, a pair of grape bunches, and a menorah between the central fill hole and wick spout. Second is a slipper-form lamp with a tab-shaped handle, a menorah within the recessed tondo, and a bunch of grapes atop the neck channel. The largest lamp boasts a rectangular body with five wick spouts in front of a central fill hole as well as a triangular handle with a menorah on the front. Size of largest (rectangular body): 5" W x 3.55" H (12.7 cm x 9 cm)
