Description:

Pre-Columbian, Western Mexico, Chupicuaro, ca. 500 to 100 BCE. A set of 3 hand-built pottery vessels, each decorated with red pigment on cream-hued grounds. The first jar bears a minimalist visage along the obverse; the double-chamber vessel exhibits bands of black checkerboard patterns around the exteriors; and the largest bowl showcases a sizable, negative-space oval in the center of the basin. Size of largest (bowl): 6.8" Diameter x 2.3" H (17.3 cm x 5.8 cm)
