Description:

East Asia, China, late Ming to early Qing Dynasty, ca. 16th to 18th century CE. A collection of 4 porcelain vessels, a trio of lidded jars and a bowl each decorated in the classic blue-on-white style. The bowl rests on a ring foot with a square stamp on the base. The walls flare up to a thin rim, the exterior and interior decorated with floral and linear motifs. The jars each have the rounded apple-form body and a narrow, raised rim with a flush matching lid, all sitting upon a ring-shaped foot. The largest displays bold floral and bird motifs, and the other two contain a similar stylized landscape with seated figures. Size (bowl): 6.75" L x 3" H (17.1 cm x 7.6 cm)

  • Condition: Bowl has minor repairs with infill to chips on rim and stable fissures radiating vertically from rim. Glazing imperfections and pitting on jars, otherwise intact and very good. Lids kept in place with clay putty.
