Lot 24C
Roman, Imperial Period, 2nd century CE. A pretty mold made pottery lamp with a maker's mark - "LMADICC"(?). He was a prolific lamp maker from ca. 140 to 160 CE. The body is round with a projecting spout and a ring handle. On the base is a raised disc that has been stamped. The interior of the discus is a fierce animal standing underneath a palm tree. The body has a nice dark red slip. Size: 4.9" L x 2.95" W x 1.75" H (12.4 cm x 7.5 cm x 4.4 cm)
