Native American, Eastern to Midwestern United States, Dalton culture, ca. 10,500 to 9,900 years ago (8500 BCE). Wow! A fantastic collection of 28 Dalton stone arrowheads and spear points. These hand-knapped stones range in colors from black, brown, and gray, to white, crimson, and tan. The arrows present with triangular and pointed blades. Several have pronounced downward pointed fins, and others are angular in shape with no pronounced fins. Dalton points usually feature the pointed tips and bifacially flaked surfaces are presented here. Several feature a channel flake near the base enclosed by petite fins. The channel aided Dalton people in hafting the point onto a spear shaft. Each point has the find site written on the surface. Size of largest: 3.5" L x 1.125" W (8.9 cm x 2.9 cm); smallest: 1.25" L x .75" W (3.2 cm x 1.9 cm); size of case: 14.875" L x 10" W x 1.5" H (37.8 cm x 25.4 cm x 3.8 cm)
