Native American, Northwestern United States, Alaska, Beringian / Old Bering Sea Culture to Punuk / Thule stage to Inuit post European Contact, ca. 200 BCE to 1900 CE. A diverse collection of 27 marine mammal bone, whale tooth, and walrus tusk ivory tools and artifacts from the Pacific northwest coast and sub arctic regions. Most are hunting, fishing and survival implements that include slotted harpoon heads, a fire starter, scrapers, fishing weights, and toggles. Other items may have been personal adornments such as lappets or pendants. All are in various states of condition – largely intact pieces with some age and use related wear and patina; ranging from pre-European contact to post - the long rib-bone handle is outfitted with an iron blade riveted to the tip. Size of rib bone knife: 8" L x 1" W (20.3 cm x 2.5 cm); case: 12" L x 8" W (30.5 cm x 20.3 cm)

This is an ESA antique exempt piece of ivory and cannot be sold internationally or to anyone residing in the states of California, Hawaii, Illinois, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Oregon, and Washington. We guarantee that the piece was made prior to 1972.
