North America, United States, ca. early 20th to 21st century CE. A collection of 48 embroidered patches for assorted USA military service. A few highlights of the collection include a horse upon the red and black background that signifies the USA 11th Armored Cavalry Regiment, also known as the Black Horse Regiment. The blue patch with a face in profile, presumably Abraham Lincoln, represents the Illinois Army National Guard. The blue patch with a ship and "JUNGLE EXPERT" was a shoulder insignia given to graduates of the Jungle Operations Training Center. The last patch in the lower corner of the sun represents the 41st Infantry Division of the USA. A great collection of patches that span the 20th century and into the 21st for anyone interested in American military history!
