Description:

**Originally Listed At $100**

Central Asia, Tibet, ca. first half of the 20th century CE. A delightful cast brass writing utensil case of a tubular-ovoid form embellished with a beautiful geometric motif of striped and plain zig-zags on its flatter sides and a lattice pattern on the curved sides. Each end is adorned with a petaloid design and separated by two horizontal bands, similar to the two vertical striations dividing each side from one another. One quarter of the vessel can be removed to reveal a hollow interior where one can keep pens, pencils, and other writing utensils. Two hoops with phytomorphic bases attach to the bottom and top where they split, one of which has a loop attached, likely for attaching to the other side. Its lustrous golden hue shimmers in the sun, making this piece truly a remarkable example of Tibetan culture! Size: 0.875" in diameter x 8" H (2.2 cm x 20.3 cm)
