Southeast Asia, Thailand, ca. mid to late 20th century CE. A stunning sterling silver belt with an integral buckle clasp. The mesh-like loops are accented with hemispherical bosses and coiled flower shapes, each panel connected with articulating rings. The buckle, comprised of 3 plates, articulates on hinges, the verso of the right side contains a pair of hooks for securing to the belt. Belts and buckles are worn by women of high status. Size: 41" L x 2.3" W (104.1 cm x 5.8 cm); silver quality: 98%; weight: 517 grams
