Eastern Europe, Russia/Latvia, ca. mid-20th century CE. A beautiful hand-crafted silver rondel with repousse motifs of flowering roses. Surrounding the two blooms are foliage and assay marks. The two marks are stamped within rectangular boxes and though faint read "RG5" likely for the workshop of Rigas Gravieris, and "875" for the silver purity for the USSR. The rondel may have been part of a powder box lid or other decorative piece. Size: 2.25" Diameter (5.7 cm); silver quality: 92%; weight: 8.9 grams
