Description:

North America, United States, ca. 20th century CE. A large, egg-shaped pendant made from a highly polished and beautifully transparent quartz (rock crystal) with a phantom crystal in its lower end that, when viewed from the front and back of the pendant, resembles the slopes of a large mountain peak - think the outline of Denali. Phantom crystals are a variety of quartz that forms over pre-existing quartz crystals. They are found in Austria, Brazil, Madagascar, Switzerland, and the United States. This example is pierced through laterally at its top, allowing it to be worn. Size: 1.15" W x 1.75" H (2.9 cm x 4.4 cm)
