Native American, Northwestern United States, Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Plateau Tribes, Nez Perce / Yakama / Warm Springs, ca. mid-20th century CE. A beaded bag made from corduroy fabric, a cotton liner, and rawhide straps. The front panel is covered with vibrant glass seed beads stitched into geometric patterns. Native people in the Columbia River Plateau region (eastern Oregon / Washington, northern Idaho, and western Montana) were highly talented with beadwork, making bags and purses such as this for personal use during pow wows and as sale items. Size: 11.25" L x 10" W (28.6 cm x 25.4 cm)
