Oceania, Papua New Guinea, ca. 20th century CE. A carved, dark wood mask in the form of an elongated human face, with a pointed chin terminating in a cylindrical handle so that the wearer can hold up the mask. The face is simple, with thin slits drilled through to serve as eyes and a wide nose offering the most detail on the face. Small ears jut from the sides of the head and incised lines form further decoration. Comes with custom stand. Size: 6.6" W x 16.25" H (16.8 cm x 41.3 cm); height on stand: 16.75" (42.5 cm)
