Description:

Native American/First Nations, made in Hazelton, British Columbia, ca. mid 20th century CE. A charming miniature yellow cedar box, cleverly made of five fitted pieces of wood in homage to indigenous bentwood boxes from centuries past. A large lid fits into the rim of the vessel. The sides are decorated with red and black motifs in classic Pacific Northwest style, featuring a bear with its young and a bird. On the underside, stamped red letters declare, "Made by Tse-Kya Bent Box Designs New Hazelton, B. C. Canada Design by W. K. Joseph". This company no longer exists, making this a nice vintage item. Size: 4.9" L x 4.9" W x 5.25" H (12.4 cm x 12.4 cm x 13.3 cm)
