Tribal / Ethnographic, Native American, Pacific Northwest (USA and Canada), Haida or Tlingit peoples, ca. 1950 CE. A hardened, rectangular leather box with bold red and black animal faces painted onto the exterior sides and lid, and a human face with raised hands painted on the back. Red and black are the two most important and common colors in Pacific Northwestern native artwork. Leather straps hold the lid in place, and the sides are sewn up with large, visible stitches. Size: 6.1" L x 11.7" W x 6.2" H (15.5 cm x 29.7 cm x 15.7 cm)
