Native American, Southwestern US, Navajo tribe, ca. 20th century CE. A thick, gorgeous woven rug made of natural un-dyed wool, and boasting intricate patterns unique to the Navajo people. The hand-loomed motif represents the Two Grey Hills, inspired by and originating in the Chuska Mountains of New Mexico and Arizona in the 1920s. This example is dominantly grey, with a border of black, white, and black keys. In the center is a double diamond shape with black curliques projecting from its sides. The lines are crisp, the colors clean, with special depth to the grey color. Size: 42" W x 51" H (106.7 cm x 129.5 cm)
