Native American, Southwestern United States, Navajo, ca. early to late 20th century CE; Eastern Europe, Poland, Baltic region, ca. late 20th to 21st century CE. This is a fine collection of vintage and contemporary jewelry, using stones of agate, amber, and shell set in sterling silver bezels as wearable pieces. The largest is a Navajo made sterling silver setting with a beaded rim and a polished and domed agate stone set in the center. The verso has a bar pin and clasp as well as a loop, versatile as either a brooch or pendant. The other Navajo pendant is a cut and polished trochus / top shell disc mounted in a sterling smooth lip pendant setting with an open back. On the front side are thick spiraling silver wires and a blue faceted glass inlay. The amber pendant consists of 12 pieces of Baltic amber set in Polish sterling silver setting arranged like a flower. All 3 pendants are wearable. Size (agate brooch): 1.75" Diameter (4.4 cm); silver quality: 94.9% to 97.1%; total weight 45.8 grams

Provenance: ex-Davis collection, Houston, Texas, acquired before 2013 from various auction houses in London and New York
