Description:

Native American, US Southwest, ca. mid 20th century CE. A trio of elegant necklaces made in the US Southwest, utilizing brilliant red coral, white, black, and brown shell, and, for one, a large white marble pendant. The first has an unpolished coral pendant between broadly alternating white and black shell heishi beads. The second has several smaller unpolished pieces at its center, surrounded by sterling silver and shell heishi beads. The third alternates white disc-shaped beads with small sterling silver ball-shaped beads, with a large ovoid creamy white marble pendant at center. Length of strand on longest (all are similar): 17" L (43.2 cm); size of large stone pendant: 0.8" H (2 cm)

Provenance: private Boulder, Colorado, USA collection, acquired 2020; old Gallup, New Mexico, USA collection, 1970s
