Description:

Latin America, Mexico, ca. 20th century CE. A dramatic and fun folk art wooden mask featuring ribbons, tinsel, and a glittering headdress reminiscent of a pirate's hat with a large mirror at its center and colorful, Mardi Gras-style beads surrounding the mirror. The long ribbons trail almost to the floor when worn, while the colorful decorations further highlight the simple, solid black color of the face and its bright eyes and mouth. A wonderful example of the Mexican mask-making tradition! Size (not including ribbons): 10.5" W x 10.5" H (26.7 cm x 26.7 cm)
