Latin America, Mexico, ca. mid 20th century CE. An endearing hand-carved and painted wooden horse head mask with large lashed eyes, thick arched browlines, eye slits for the wearer to see, perky ears, a pronounced snout, and a slightly open mouth. The visage is painted a creamy beige hue with details delineated in black, white, and red. There are perforations on the top and sides to secure to the wearer. Size: 9.75" L x 5.25" W (24.8 cm x 13.3 cm)
