Description:

Latin America, Mexico, ca. 20th century CE. A lovely hand-carved wooden carnival or festival mask depicting an older male with a prominent nose, full lips, a black-painted moustache, and an arching brow line. The peripheries have two perforations for mounting or wear, and the entire mask is colored with a crimson-hued pigmentation with traces of black accent paint. Carved out on the verso for wearing, this is a wonderful example! Custom museum-quality display stand included. Size: 8.5" H (21.6 cm); 11.5" H (29.2 cm) on included custom stand.
