North America, California, Coronado, ca. mid-20th century CE. A hand-made wooden santo of the holy family, Mary, Joseph, and the Christ child, standing within an open walled shrine. The surfaces are painted in vibrant hues, but faded from exposure to elements, suggesting this was a personal outdoor piece. The base is painted blue and inscribed with "The Image Maker of Coronado / Holy Family / My 28 Year." Size: 16" L x 11" W x 24" H (40.6 cm x 27.9 cm x 61 cm)

Provenance: ex-private Bishop Family Trust collection, the Trust of the late Bill Bishop, a noted antiquarian with shops in Scottsdale, Arizona and Allenspark, Colorado, USA, acquired before 2010
