Southeast Asia, Laos, ca. early 20th century CE. Three hand-carved and extensively decorated funerary vessels, each one with a tiered base, conical container, and pagoda-like lid - one lavishly painted with organic floral patterns in yellow, red, green and white hues - the other two with gilded geometric decoration, the example with diamond shaped motifs also shows remains of glass inlays. Intriguing examples of funerary art. Size: tallest measures 4.375" W x 14.25" H (11.1 cm x 36.2 cm)
