Description:

Southeast Asia, Indonesia, ca. early to mid-20th century CE. A personal ceremonial kris sword with a hand-carved wooden handle bearing a pair of abstract anthropomorphic maskettes along the interior curve. The forged-steel blade is of a double-edged design and has a narrow fuller along the shoulder as well as a projecting hand guard. The nickel-silver sheath has a segmented upper border, a projecting guard protector, and a slender blade housing. Size: 4.3" W x 19.3" H (10.9 cm x 49 cm); (blade): 14.875" L (37.8 cm).
