Description:

Native American, Southwestern United States, Hopi or Navajo, ca. early to mid-20th century CE. A hand-carved wood kachina doll painted and adorned in feathers. The figure stands on two delineated feet with the carved robe concealing most of the body. The rounded head has a pair of bulging eyes and mouth / snout, with several feathers adhered to the brow. The arched panel known as the tableta is painted with a stippled dots and a sun or star motif. Size: 4.25" L x 2" W x 10.25" H (10.8 cm x 5.1 cm x 26 cm); 10.75" H (27.3 cm) on included custom stand.
