Lot 102
Haiti, 20th century CE. This is a silky cream fabric covered on the front aside from a narrow border with brilliantly colored sequins. Brilliant colors with childlike-perspective and subtle humor categorize Haitian art; food, animals, death, and religion, all seen on this piece, are common themes for these textiles. In Haiti, these flags are called drapo. Size: 38.75" W x 28.5" H (98.4 cm x 72.4 cm)
