Native American / First Nations, Pacific Northwest Coast, United States or Canada, Tsimshian, Haida, or Tlingit, ca. mid to late 20th century CE. A fabulous, hand-carved wood rattle in the form of an orca (killer whale) with a raven. The surface deeply etched with formline motifs that are highlighted in red, blue, and black, with an attached handle - the rattle functions as intended, filled with small pebbles. Size: 20" L x 4.5" W x 7" H (50.8 cm x 11.4 cm x 17.8 cm)
