East Asia, China, ca. first half of the 20th century CE. A petite pendant in the form of a female figure in a prostrate position, hand-carved from pale yellow-green jade. The figure kneels down and hunches forward with a dramatically arched back and holds a footed dish with both hands. Her facial features and coiffure are lightly incised to accentuate her delicate nature, and a modern cord strap is tied around one wrist. Size: 2.8" L x 0.9" W x 1.6" H (7.1 cm x 2.3 cm x 4.1 cm)
