Description:

Central Africa, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Ngbaka people, ca. early to mid-20th century CE. A forged-iron throwing knife with a crescent-shaped blade head and two protruding blades on the opposite side. The blade heads are integral with the slender handle, and a third protrusion pokes out from the handle's center. A woven fiber handle was at one time attached to the lowest part of the handle for increased grip and control when hurling the knife forward. Size: 12.4" W x 18.375" H (31.5 cm x 46.7 cm)
