Description:

Roman, Imperial Period, ca. 1st to 3rd century. A trio of beautiful bottles blown from semi-translucent glass in yellow and blue-green hues. The first is a tall flask in a semi-translucent pale turquoise hue- heavy iridescence and earthen material throughout. The next is a yellow jarlet with a flared rim, waisted neck, and a spherical body. Last is a jar that has been nearly completely encased in sediment, that also may have helped preserve the form. Size (turquoise flask): 3" Diameter x 6.5" H (7.6 cm x 16.5 cm)

Provenance: ex-Nancy and Dr. E.F. Simpson collection, Los Angeles, California, USA, acquired from 1970 to 2000

Stable fissures in turquoise-hued bottle and chips to rim. Heavy mineral and earthen encrustations. Heavy encrustation on last bottle exterior, otherwise intact.
