Native American, Southwestern United States, Zuni & Kewa (Santo Domingo) Pueblo, ca. mid to late 20th century CE. A pair of wearable necklaces with hooks clasps, one with stone fetish animals and the other is a single strand of heishi beads with turquoise. The fetish animals are carved from a variety of stones and nacre shell and strung on 2 strands of petite heishi beads. They resemble canines or abstract bears, with a single bird at the center. Size of fetish strand: 26.5" L (67.3 cm); bird bead: 1" L x 0.75" W (2.5 cm x 1.9 cm)
