Description:

**Originally Listed At $400**

Native American, Southwestern United States, Southwestern New Mexico, Southeastern Arizona, and Northern Chihuahua region of Mexico, Mogollon culture, ca. 1000 to 1150 CE. A great set of 2 pottery jars formed via Reserve Indented Corrugated style, a skillful construction style that is a modification of the traditional coil-and-scrape technique. Each coil of pottery was carefully indented with the potter's finger at remarkably regular, tight intervals - a step that contributed to the integrity of the form as well. Many Mogollon women have been found in burials accompanied by pottery making tools, and vessels similar to this one have been found in the Starkweather Ruin in New Mexico. Size (larger jar): 5.6" Diameter x 4.4" H (14.2 cm x 11.2 cm); (smaller jar): 3.75" W x 3.5" H (9.5 cm x 8.9 cm)
