Europe, Italy, Renaissance period, ca. 17th century CE; Germany, Berlin, probably KPM Berlin, ca. 19th century CE. A beautiful pair of religious pieces: a 17th-century Italian silver niello plaque of Saint John the Evangelist with a coppered halo and his signature eagle and a 19th-century German porcelain painting after the "Sistine Madonna" by Raphael, likely manufactured by the Royal Porcelain Factory (KPM) Berlin. The latter is set in a gilt and silvered brass frame. Size of larger (porcelain): 2.8" W x 4.3" H (7.1 cm x 10.9 cm); silver quality: 90.81%; weight of silver niello: 6.5 grams
