Central America, Guatemala, ca. mid-20th century CE. A pair of hand carved wooden slingshots depicting human figures (perhaps prisoners), the larger one presenting both muscular arms and finely delineated hands to the front, the smaller with hands upraised behind the head, both carved from wood, both showing nice patina. Created in Guatemala where the word for slingshot is ondilla or hondilla. Two wonderful works of folk art! Size: larger slingshot measures 1.75" W x 5.25" H (4.4 cm x 13.3 cm)
