Roman, Imperial Period, ca. 1st to 4th century CE. A set of 2 wheel-thrown pottery vessels - a bowl and a jug - of sizable form and sturdy construction. The jug bears a spool-form body with a carinated midsection as well as a tall spout and a thick handle; remains of white pigment are visible across the exterior. The larger bowl has a planar base, a thick rim, and a deep basin. Size of largest (bowl): 10.75" W x 4.875" H (27.3 cm x 12.4 cm)

Provenance: private Bell Buckle, Tennessee, USA collection, by descent, acquired in Tunisia before 1969
