Description:

**First Time At Auction**

Roman Imperial Period, ca. 1st to 4th century CE. A collection of 6 various tools and instrument parts made from bronze and leaded bronze- for medical and/or cosmetic use. A slender rod perhaps used like a stylus or probe, a small spoon, and two spatulas for extracting ointments or powders from longer tubes or containers. The tweezers have an interesting mechanism - sliding the button pinches the heads tightly and holds them together, perhaps also functioning as a clamp. Size: 7" L (17.8 cm)
