Ancient Central Asia, India, Pakistan, and Afghanistan, Gandharan Empire, ca. 1st to 5th century CE. A beautiful and uncomplicated necklace constructed with dozens of hand-carved stone beads of an attractive grass green hue. The tubular and seed-form beads alternate along the outer strands and trace inwards to fourteen spherical beads formed from 94% gold (equivalent to 22K+) with twin suspension loops that alternate with larger greenstone beads. Strung in modern times and secured with a gold-filled loop and French hook combo, this is an elegant necklace that is sure to be a head-turner. Size (necklace): 16.6" L (42.2 cm); (gold beads): 0.3" W x 0.25" H (0.8 cm x 0.6 cm); quality of gold: 94% (equivalent to 22K+).
