The scene includes two ladies of the Aguilera family, Limotea and Josefa (most likely mother and daughter) kneeling in prayer and presenting candles to la Purisima Concepcion. The text generally translates, "On May 26, 1872, Limotea Agilera suddenly became ill with a virus; Josefa Agilera entrusted her to la Purisima Concepcion and she was restored to health and with gratitude (we offer this) and give thanks."
