Description:

North America, Eastern United States, Civil War era, ca. 1861 to 1865 CE. A wonderful and historical gathering of Civil-War-era projectiles: 2 percussion caps, 5 musket balls, 16 bullets, and a single button. The lead rifle bullets have conical profiles, and several have incised grooves and/or a hollow form, and both theses and the musket balls are a range of calibers. The copper percussion caps with the flared lips were for firing percussion muskets and contained small quantities of explosives for firing guns. This collection consists of cast-off pieces from battles and skirmishes from one of the bloodiest and most bitter conflicts in United States. Size (largest bullet): 1" L x .6" W (2.5 cm x 1.5 cm)
