Description:

Central Asia, Turkmenistan and Afghanistan, Turkoman (Turkman) Tekke peoples, ca. 19th century CE. A lovely cast-silver (87%) bracelet consisting of two horizontal panels adorned with incised scrollwork motifs and three inlaid ovoid agate stones each. The exterior surfaces are covered in a thin layer of gilding which imbues a faint golden hue to the bright silver surface, and the wrist opening is lined with sixteen narrow prongs. The solid construction of the bracelet means that the size cannot be adjusted, but this certainly does not detract from the striking nature of this accessory! Lucite display stand for photography purposes only. Size: 2.625" W x 2.375" H (6.7 cm x 6 cm); size of wrist opening (at widest point): 1.75" W (4.4 cm); quality of silver: 87%; total weight: 120.4 grams.
