Tibet, China, ca. 19th century CE. Fine and desirable ceremonial vessel comprised of wooden bowl heavily covered in chased silver. Lid with raised knob and incised with numerous Buddhist symbols, base with band of human skulls where silver cup attaches to wooden rim. Lower section with short foot and more incised decorative elements. Lovely example! Size: 5.75" W x 4.75" H (14.6 cm x 12.1 cm)
