Description:

Central Asia, Tibet, ca. 19th century CE. A large, pretty pendant with a 94% silver backing and decorate silver waves, grapes, and vine motifs on its front. The back is further decorated with a large repousse motif of a symmetrical flower. The front has a wide, thick, ring of dark red banded agate on its edge, and a large, round disc of lapis, complete with sparkling golden quartzite inclusions across its face. At the center of the pendant - in the center of the lapis - is a round disc of coral surrounded by copper. Two small silver projections from the upper sides form loops so that the pendant can be worn. Size of pendant: 3.4" W (8.6 cm); included modern string is: 27" L (68.6 cm); 148.3 g total weight
