Central Asia, Tibet or Nepal, ca. 19th to early 20th century CE. A stunning wooden table, open on one side and decorated on the other with a large panel featuring the ornately carved and painted face of a dragon. This face and the two sides fold into the underside of the table surface and fit neatly with the dragon's face displayed. The unpainted wood has a rich, rosewood sheen. Size: 16" L x 31.5" W x 14.75" H (40.6 cm x 80 cm x 37.5 cm)

Provenance: private Los Angeles, California, USA collection; purchased from a Chinese estate, 1980s
