Central Asia, Tibet, ca. 19th century CE. A cast bronze good luck pendant, in the form of the two golden fish (gaurmatsya), one of the eight Ashtamangala, the Eight Auspicious Symbols associated with Hinduism, Jainism, and Buddhism. The bodies of the fish are joined, with their fins waving down the sides and lower part of the pendant. The fish represent the prana and the carp. Size: 1.45" W x 2.15" H (3.7 cm x 5.5 cm); 2.35" H (6 cm) on included custom stand.
